Southwest Airline is doing something right. Southwest has a system whereas you could checkin up to 24 hours prior to your flight. At that time you are given a letter (A,B or C) and a number (1-60). So say for instance you get to the terminal and your gate is packed. You are still tired and would like to rest your eyes for a duration. Now you could sit anywhere close to the gate and when one of the lovely Southwest people announce that they are getting ready to board your plane. You can slowly or quickly move yourself to your position, ie; (A 45), when they called the A's I stood up and when to the post that stated 40-45. Simple. it is so much better than before whereas you tried to sit as close to the gate door so you could get a better choice of seating.
I flew Southwest Airlines last week and when all were boarded, one of the stewards asked if two people were in the plane. It was obvious that it was a husband and wife or a brother and sister. They asked that they turn on the service light. Once that was done. They announce that the couple was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on that day. So the steward came down the aisle and giave them a bottle of champange.
I was almost in tears. It really touched my heart. There is a multitude of GOOD out there and we should not have to dig through the muck and mire to find it. It sits within each of us and it is as simple as a smile to someone. Southwest Airlines made my day that day and I'm sure it did for others as well. Southwest Airline is doing something right.
